    • The centre is called ‘YO1 Nature Cure Center’.
    • YO1, which means youthful in Sanskrit, is the first of its kind nature cure center in America.
  1. Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of Paperless Vanijya Bhawan in New Delhi.
    • Once ready, the new building will house Department of Commerce.
    • It will be a completely paperless office with state of the art facilities such as smart access control, central air-conditioning, video conferencing, and completely networked systems.

  1. Mongolia launched construction of its first oil refinery that is funded by India.
    • It will be capable of processing 5 million tonnes of crude oil each year That is about 30,000 barrels per day (bpd).
  1. Tech giant Google announced the rollout of an offline mode for users on Android.
    • They are introducing another way for Chrome on Android users in India, along with more than 100 countries including Nigeria, Indonesia, and Brazil, to surf the web with Chrome on Android devices – even without a constant internet connection.
  1. The Gujarat Government announced the launch of the Rs 870-crore pilot project of Suryashakti Kisan Yojana (SKY).
    • This is a first of its kind in the country.
    • This would cover, through solar power generation, 12,400 farmers in 33 districts through 137 feeders.
    • Using this project the farmers would use solar energy for irrigation and they can sell the surplus power via grid.
  1. WWF-India has launched its first-ever comic book named ‘The Great Indian Nature Trail with Uncle Bikky’.
    • The book appreciates the geographical diversity of India.
    • It follows the travels of its protagonists Uncle Bikky, Chunmun and their dog Duggu.
  1. According to United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2018 report, number of hungry people in world has risen for first time in more than decade.
    • There are now approximately 38 million more undernourished people in the world, rising from 777 million in 2015 to 815 million in 2016.
    • The report is an overview of progress towards achieving 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDG), which consists of 17 goals and 169 targets.
    • The number of people living on less than $2 a day declined from 9% of the world’s population in 2000 to 9.2% in 2017.

    • Google and Apple retained the number 1 and 2 spots in the rankings, followed by Amazon, which moved into the #3 position ahead of Microsoft.
