We are living in an era where students are much likely to read using online PDFs and books.

It is a great way to earn knowledge, but I am a kind of old school.

I do take online courses and read online PDFs, but I always prefer reading a book or a printed PDF.

This was the reason I made all my courses downloadable and printable as well. Well, today we are not here to talk about that.

We are here to talk about the importance of RBI Grade B Books & Mock tests for the upcoming RBI Grade B Examination.

RBI Grade B Books

Many students face an issue with finding the best books for RBI Grade B to cover the syllabus of the exam.

I have narrowed down this vast process for you by handpicking a few RBI Grade B Phase 1 and Phase 2 Books.

These will save you a lot of time as you don’t need to research anymore. Just pick up these best books for RBI Grade B from any e-commerce website and you are good to go.

I understand that you must be thinking that how would I know what it feels like to be in your situation at the moment. Trust me, I have been there too.

And I am here to tell you that having now reached where you someday hope to, the right books and a lot of dedication are what make your goals very much achievable.

Though this article is particularly about the RBI Grade B books you will need, remember that merely covering all the below-mentioned books will not ensure selection due to the nature of the examination.

It is the understanding as well as the application of learned concepts that will determine your success. So, focus on absorbing, understanding, and applying what you read and study.

I have mentioned all the books according to the Phases of the exam.

If you don’t know about the different phases, their exam pattern, and their syllabus, I would recommend you to read in detail about their exam pattern and syllabus here.

There are a lot of books that I would recommend in this section but don’t worry you don’t need to go through all of them cover to cover. In the video below, I have mentioned the key topics that need to be covered from those books.

There are a lot of books that I would recommend in this section but don’t worry you don’t need to go through all of them cover to cover. In the video below, I have mentioned the key topics that need to be covered from those books.

RBI Grade B Books and Study Material for Phase 1:

1. General Awareness (helpful in all the 3 stages):

  • Spotlight Monthly Magazine: Best source to cover Current affair
  • Lucent’s General Knowledge Book (by Dr. Binay Karna and others) for Static Part – Best General Awareness book for RBI Grade B
  • The Hindu/Livemint/Business standard/Scroll.in/The Indian Express – Online Blogs & newspapers for current affairs
  • PIB 247

2. Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning & English

  • Quant, Reasoning, English & Past Year Papers Book by Anuj Jindal
  • I have used many CAT & banking books to try and cover the syllabus of the RBI Grade B Exam but none of them worked. There are certain topics that are being asked in both CAT and banking exams but not in RBI.

You must be thinking now, so what let’s leave those extra topics? Well, it’s not that simple. The level of questions in these exams is very different from RBI.

So as listed above, I made a book last year to cover the Phase 1 part of the syllabus. Check out the book below to know more about it.

Complete Course Kit for RBI Grade B
RBI Grade B Phase 1 & Past Year Questions Book
RBI Grade B Phase 1 Book USP

There are a few other books that I would recommend for English. Since English is a common subject for both Phases, I have listed those books at the end of this section.

RBI Grade B Books and Study Material for Phase 2:

  • Indian Economic Development – NCERT Textbook for 11th Class
  • Introductory Macroeconomics – NCERT Textbook in Economics for 12th Class

  • Indian Economy (Performance and Policies) by Uma Kapila
  • Indian Economy by V.K.Puri & S.K.Misra

  • Indian Polity by M. Laxmikanth
  • Economic Survey for the Year
  • Union Budget
  • Pratiyogita Darpan Yearly Edition
  • NITI Aayog Recent Reports – Selective

  • Indian Financial System by Bharati V. Pathak
  • Indian Financial System by M.Y.Khan
  • Fundamentals of Financial Management by R.P.Rustagi
  • Fundamentals of Financial Management by Prasanna Chandra
  • Analysis of Financial Statements by T.S.Grewal (only Ratios)
  • RBI 247
  • RBI Website
  • CAIIB books for areas like Risk management

  • Organization Behaviour by Stephen P. Robbins
  • Organization Theory and Behaviour by T. N.Chhabra & B.P.Singh
  • Principles & Practice of Management by T. N.Chhabra (certain topics overlap with the above books, study only selective topics)
  • Human Resource Management by Aswathappa
  • Human Resource Management by T.N.Chhabra
  • Human Resource Management by C.B.Gupta

You cannot use just one book for the whole syllabus of Phase 2, you have to use a combination of books.

You must be thinking, “how am I going to cover so many books?”

Well, you don’t have to.

As mentioned earlier, you just need to cover certain key topics from these books. For your convenience, I have discussed this in the video shared at the beginning of the section.

For a long time now I had been thinking of publishing a book for Phase 2. Recently, I have launched that book as part of a kit containing a total of 3 books and a small set of goodies to aid you in your preparation for Phase 1 & Phase 2 Examinations.

To know more about these RBI Grade B Books, refer to this video.

To purchase this kit, you may reach out to us at +91 9999466225.

As communicated earlier, here I have listed books and study material for English – both Phases:

The best way to score more in English is to read & write as much as possible. However, the books are given below can help to improve your English & contribute towards your preparation –

  • The Country of First Boys by Amartya Sen
  • An Uncertain Glory by Jean Dreze & Amartya Sen
  • India Since Independence by Bipin Chandra (purely for leisure reading, will not contribute much to the course)
  • Getting India Back on Track by Bibek Debroy
  • Wren and Martin for Grammar
  • Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis (for the understanding origin of words)

Now that you know all the books and material you need, you’re halfway prepared to take on the challenge of this exam.

It seems like a very large list of books and materials, but I promise you that once you start, it won’t feel impossible.

However, once you decide on the books that you want to use you should assign the time for each one keeping in mind the important dates of the exam.

Practice really does make perfect. While it is important to study and to learn, it is equally important to test and see for yourself how much you have learned.

Thus, it is time for us to move to the next section of the blog.

RBI Grade B Mock Tests

I have created a set of RBI Grade B Mock Tests for your convenience. You can access these at the very beginning of the page.

These free mock tests are designed keeping in mind the latest exam pattern and thus it matches the level of questions asked in the exam.

You are also provided with a score, correct answer, and an explanation (wherever necessary) for each question once you attempt the mock test.

This will help you understand two things – your mistakes as well as your weak areas. If your scores are not great, don’t be disheartened. Your failures will help you figure out the road map to success.

The competition for the RBI Grade B exam is very tough. It goes without saying that you must be at your absolute best in order to stand a chance of cracking it.

So, you must give the maximum number of mock tests to be fully prepared for the exam.

I also recommend students to keep on giving regular quizzes which I organise on my telegram groups. Here is the link to my telegram group.

Another set of great resources for practicing questions are the past years’ papers. If you can mimic the exam setup and time yourself, you can use these papers like mock tests. Remember to analyse your performance thoroughly.

I provide these quizzes on a daily basis for the RBI Grade B Exam to help you prepare better.

Why Mock Tests are so vital?

Mock Tests are useful at all times – before and after you cover the entire syllabus.

At the beginning of your preparation, you may use Mock Tests to analyse where you currently stand, which topics you need to focus on, and thus frame your preparation strategy accordingly. You may refer to my blog on creating your preparation strategy for RBI Grade B.

During your preparation, you may use a Mock Test to see how you are progressing with your preparation, what are your strengths and weaknesses, if you need to make changes to your strategy or to take your preparation to the next level.

Towards the end of your preparation, you can start giving comprehensive mock tests or join an RBI Grade B test series 1-2 months before the examination. This will help you drive your preparation to your eventual goal – becoming an RBI Grade B Officer.

How often has it happened to you that you were fully prepared course-wise, but you lost marks because you couldn’t finish in time?

Practicing mock tests will make sure that doesn’t happen again.

It will help you in boosting your performance scores by allowing you to work under a certain time deadline and create almost the same experience as the actual RBI Grade B exam.

Another reason why the mock test is essential is that the RBI Grade B Examination is conducted online.

If you are among those students who are not familiar with the online examination pattern. These are very important mocks for you.

I used to spend ages on practice tests before giving the actual exam. I can assure you it made a huge difference to my preparation.

Mock Tests are even more essential given that the RBI Grade B Exam has negative marking in both phases.

Mock Tests Free Analytics

I have also provided an analytics segment at the end of each test. You should definitely go through that. The various modules available under the analytics segment are:

1. Section Analysis

A section-wise breakup of your performance on the test. On clicking the “Compare Sections”, the following sub-modules appear:

  • Score vs Section – score in each section.
  • Accuracy vs Section – accuracy percentage in each section.
  • Time vs Section – time-taken in each section.

2. How Did You Perform?

Overall time and score breakup for each correct, incorrect, and skipped answer. On clicking the “View Report”, the following sub-modules appear:

  • Answer & Time Taken Plotting – time-taken for each correct, incorrect & skipped answer with various filters and a comparison with topper options.

3. Where Did You Stand?

This module is meant to provide you with an All Inda Rank, Leaderboard, and Score & Accuracy comparisons with Toppers & Average.

These analytics are provided to help you understand areas where you can improve further so as to be fully prepared on the day of the exam.

If you’ve stuck around up until here, I think it’s safe to say you’re determined to crack this exam no matter what. To add to your motivation (add fuel to fire) let me share this blog on the RBI Grade B Officer Salary, Perks & Emoluments.

With a clear head and a focused aim, you can not only achieve anything you set your foot on but also do it with flying colors. I tried to make this article informative and interesting for you because I understand studying and researching an exam can be very stressful. I hope you found all the information regarding the RBI Grade B Mock Tests and Books that you were looking for.

Best of Luck!!

How to memorize faster from the study material of RBI Grade B 2021?

I know, memorization can be an extremely humdrum and long-drawn process, if not done the right way. One way to do so is by going through your books/notes for RBI Grade B 2021 diligently, and at regular intervals. You can also look into techniques of memory retention, like for instance using a mind map. Using a mind map, you can learn to relate everything that you want to memorize with a visual queue. That way it would become much easier for you to memorize stuff.
