CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test)

CTET 2020 exam online application form date has been announced. The CTET online application process has been started and candidates can apply for CTET till 2nd March 2020. The last date for CTET online application form for the July 2020 exam has been extended till 2nd March 2020. CTET Online Application Fees can be deposited by 3:30 PM on 5th March 2020. The CTET July 2020 exam will be conducted on 5th July 2020 (Sunday).

What is the CTET Exam? 

The onus of conducting CTET Examination is given to the CBSE by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, twice a year. Every year this exam is conducted to appoint skilled teachers for Primary Level & Upper Primary Level posts in 20 Indian Languages- English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Oriya, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Khasi, Malayalam, Bangla, Manipuri, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan & Garo. Candidates can apply online for CTET Exam 2020 at CTET official site – www.ctet.nic.in. CTET 2020: Important Dates 

Notification for CTET registration has been released on 23rd January 2020. CTET online application has also been started from 24th January 2020 itself. The last date for CTET registration is 2nd March 2020. Students are advised to fill the form carefully otherwise their application form for CTET registration might be cancelled. CTET Online Application Form 2020

To apply online for CTET 2020 Exam candidates need to follow the steps given below: 

  • Visit CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in. 
  • Click on the link “Apply Online”.
  • Fill all the details in the Application Form.
  • Write down Registration No. and Application No for future reference.
  • Upload Scanned Images of your latest Photograph and Signature.
  • Pay CTET Exam Fee through e-challan or debit/credit card and net banking.
  • Print the final page of CTET Registration for future reference. 

Application Fee

Candidates can submit their CTET Registration fee by 3:30 P.M. on 5th March 2020. The details of the categories-wise fee are given below-

CTET Eligibility Criteria 2020

The candidates need to fulfill the following criteria to apply for CTET recruitment:  

(i) Primary Level 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. 

OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. 

OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). 

OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education. 

OR 

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. 

(ii) Upper Primary Level 

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. 

OR 

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed.). 

OR 

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed.). 

OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) 

OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. 

OR 

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.

CTET Exam Pattern 2020 

CTET recruitment consists of two papers-  

  • Paper 1- Primary stage  
  • Paper 2- Elementary stage 

If a candidate wants to teach students from classes 1 to 5 then he/she can go with Paper-1 while if he/she wants to teach students from classes 6 to 8 then he/she can appear in Paper 2. To be qualified in CTET exam candidates need to score 60% (these are just qualifying marks, it does not guarantee your final selection in the CTET Exam).

CTET exam certificate will be valid for seven years only. The validity time period is the same for all the categories
