Today, as I sit here to write about the process to apply online for RBI Grade B, and about the RBI Grade B Application form, I am weirdly reminded of all the times I have booked my railway tickets online.
The process of booking train tickets online is pretty similar to the RBI Grade B Online application process. In both processes, you need to be thorough while giving in your information and details.
Similar to filling a railway booking form carefully to book your train ticket, being careful while filling in your RBI Grade B application form is key to a successful RBI Grade B registration.
You see, even though the process of the RBI Grade B online application is fairly straightforward, there are a lot of students who fail to carry it out correctly.
You might be shocked to know this, but I have met hundreds of students over the years who have made mistakes while filling in their RBI Grade B application form, and therefore got some or the other detail wrong in their RBI Grade B apply online process.
Thus, I have dedicated this article to help out students to avoid mistakes in their application forms by sharing a detailed step wise process to apply online.
Along with that, I have also shared the information about the documents needed when filling the application form, the application fees, and the important dates pertaining to the online application window.
With that said, let’s begin.

It’s now time to know about the RBI Grade B application fees.
RBI Grade B Application Fees
Talking about the RBI Grade B application fees payment, this is something without which your RBI Grade B registration 2023 cannot be completed.
The Application fees payment is often the final step of any RBI Grade B online application process and can be done from the opening date to the end date of the application process.
As far as the method of payment is concerned, you can pay the RBI Grade B application fees through online mode only. You will be required to use the following means online:
- Debit cards (Visa/ Maestro/ MasterCard/ RuPay)
- Credit cards
- Internet banking
- IMPS
- Cast cards/Mobile wallets
That said, on successful payment of the fees, you will get to know the same through an e-receipt which is generated at the end of the payment process.
Now, to address the elephant in the room here, i.e., the fee amount, refer to the table I have given below.
CGPA | Aggregate Percentage of Marks | Fee (in INR) |
---|---|---|
SC/ST/PWD | Intimation charges only* | 100 + 18% GST |
Gen/OBC | Application fee including intimation charges | 850 + 18% GST |
Staff | Nil | Nil |
*SC/ST/PWD candidates need to pay the intimation charge of 100 INR only to successfully register for the RBI Grade B exam. They do not need to pay the application fees.
With the topic of RBI Grade B application fees addressed, it is time to move on to our next section, i.e., documents required in the registration process.
RBI Grade B Online Application Form – Documents Required
You should note that there are certain documents that you need to upload along with your RBI Grade B application form if you want to successfully register for the RBI Grade B 2023 exam.
The documents being talked about here will be required to be uploaded in JPEG format. In the table below I have mentioned the names of the documents and the specification of the same. Take a careful look at it.

Impression of Left Thumb | 240 by 240 Pixels | 20 – 50 KBs |

*The Hand Written Declaration Text that the RBI demands of the candidates goes something like this:
“I,_____ (your name), hereby declare all the information submitted by me in the declaration form is correct, true, or valid. I’ll present the supporting documents as and when needed.”
RBI Grade B Application Form – Points to Note
Here are some of the points that you need to remember when applying online for the RBI Grade B exam 2023:
- The entire application process can only be carried out online. You cannot apply for the RBI Grade B in offline mode.
- You need to keep your E-mail id and mobile number active for future correspondence by the RBI. That’s because The RBI authorities will communicate with you through your Email ID, and SMS.
- You should remember to fill the complete form, before the last date of registration.
- Remember to save your application form and acknowledgment documents for future reference.
- You mention your exam centre preferences at this stage. Also, make sure to be careful while doing so, as you won’t be able to change it later.
With the topic of documents required during the application process out of the way, it’s time to look at the most important topic in the article, i.e., the steps to apply online.
However, before doing so, let me quickly mention that if you are wondering how to go about with your preparation for the RBI Grade B exam, you can click on the link here.
RBI Grade B Apply Online 2023 – Steps
So, let’s address the most important topic of the online application process.
I have written down below, the steps on how to fill the RBI Grade B online application 2023. I have divided the whole process into 10 steps. These will make it super easy.
Fill Registration Form
Step 1: Go to the official website of RBI – rbi.org.in. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on opportunities@RBI.

Step 2: Once that page opens up, search for the current vacancies. After that, a drop-down menu will appear, then click on vacancies in that drop-down menu.

Step 3: Next, a new page will open, here click on “Recruitment of Officers in Grade B- DR (General), DEPR/DSIM-2023”.

Step 4: Once that page opens up, click on “Online Application”.

Step 5: After you’ve clicked the online application link, a new page will open up where you’ll have to click on “New registration”.

Fill Application Form
Step 6: On the page that opens, fill up all your details like Name, Email ID, Mobile number, etc. When you’re finished filling up the information, click on save and next.
Note: After clicking on save and next, you will get a registration number and password. It will then automatically get generated and you must keep it safe.
Why I say that is because it’s a government website and you don’t want to go through the hassle of regenerating the password in the middle of your preparation.

Step 7: Now the photo and signature section will open up. Fill in all the details as required.

I have mentioned the rest of the details below. The details that you would need to fill in as well:
Documents | Size | Pixels | Format |
---|---|---|---|
Photograph | 20-50 KBs | 200 X 230 Pixels | JPG or JPEG |
Signature | 10 - 20 KBs | 140 X 50 pixels | JPG or JPEG |
Left - hand thumb impression | 10 - 20 KBs | 140 X 50 pixels | JPG or JPEG |
Hand Written Declaration | 20 - 50 KBs | 140 X 50 pixels | JPG or JPEG |
Step 8: Here, as the next step, you’d have to fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, your job experience, and a few miscellaneous things like the Phase 1 exam center. When you’re done filling in the details click on save and next.

Note: I would recommend you to go to the center in a nearby city if you live in a remote place. This is an important thing to remember as the exam takes place online.
I say that because I have seen cases where the system at the center shows some error or the center is too dingy. This is the last thing you want after you are well prepared for the exam.
Step 9: Now a preview of the online application will appear on your screen. Check all the details very carefully.
If you find any mistakes, go back and correct them. Finally, when you find everything correct in the preview, click on “final submit”.

Step 10: After you have clicked on final submit, a page opens up where you will have to upload a left-hand thumb impression and a handwritten declaration stating that all the information and documents that you’re providing are correct, true, and valid.
Once you’re done uploading click on save and next.

Submit Application Fee & Print out E-Receipt
Step 11: After you have filled in all the aforementioned details, you can finally go on to finalize your registration by paying the registration fees using your debit/credit card, internet banking, cash cards, mobile wallets, etc.

Step 12: Once you are through with paying the registration fees, you will receive the ‘e-receipt’ as proof of successful fee payment. Keep it safe.

Congrats! Now that you have successfully applied for the RBI Grade B examination, you may want to check the RBI Grade B Syllabus and start with your preparation.
Go ahead and create your own personalised preparation strategy by utilising the preparation tips & study plan provided in the linked blog.
Conclusion
So, do your due diligence and make sure you have all the necessary details and documents handy while filling your application form. If you face any issue in accessing or filling the application, do go through the steps in the article as many times as you need.
In case of any issue that has not been covered in this article, reach out to me over mail or in the comments below and I will help you out.
That said, it’s now time for me to take leave. Best of luck and God bless!
