1. What is the start date for online registrations of RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018?


The start date of online registrations for all three posts is 3rd July 2018.

2. When will the online registrations of RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018 close?


23rd July 2018 is the closing date for the online registrations as well as fee payment for all the posts under RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018.

3. When will the online exam for RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018 is going to be conducted?

  • Phase 1 online exam for Officers in Grade B (DR) – General will conduct on 16th August 2018 and phase 2 of online exam for Officers in Grade B (DR) – General will conduct on 7th September 2018.
  • Phase 1 of online exam for both the remaining posts i.e. Officers in Gr B (DR) – ( Economics and Policy Research Department,DEPR) and Officers in Gr B (DR) (Statistics and Information Management Department,DSIM) will conduct on 16th August, 2018 and phase 2 online exam for these two posts will conduct on September 6 and / or September 7, 2018 (It is to be confirmed in admit cards ).

5.  What is the age eligibility criteria for posts under RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018?

  • To apply for the posts under this recruitment, As on 1st July 2018, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and he/she must not have attained the age of 30 years. A person must have been born earlier than 02nd July 1988 and not later than 01 July 1997 in which both the dates are inclusive.
  • There is a relaxation of upto maximum five years in upper age limit for the candidates belonging to SC/ST Category.
  • There is a relaxation of upto maximum three years in upper age limit for the candidates belonging to OBC Category.

6. What is the educational eligibility criteria for posts of  Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) (General) under RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018?
In Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and in 10th Standard examinations, a minimum of 60% (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade is required to apply for this post under this recruitment.

7. What is the educational eligibility criteria for posts of Officers in Gr B (DR)  ( Economics and Policy Research Department, DEPR) under RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018?
A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute is required. For SC, ST and PWD candidates having a second class with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years in Master’s Degree examination or equivalent recognized qualifications is required to apply for this post under this recruitment.

8. What is the educational eligibility criteria for posts of Officers in Gr B (DR) (Statistics and Information Management Department, DSIM) under RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018?

A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years is required to apply for this post under this recruitment; OR
Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute is required to apply for this post under this recruitment; OR
Stat.

The degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years is required to apply for this post under this recruitment OR

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years is required to apply for this post under this recruitment.
NOTE: For SC, ST and PWD candidates, the minimum marks required in Master’s Degree as in items a, b, c and d above is 50% or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years

9. My university/college does not award marks/result in percentage, and it allots aggregate grade points such as CGPA/OGPA/CPI, etc. In this case, how should I calculate my marks in percentage value?

Some Universities/Colleges do not award Class or percentage of marks and allot Aggregate Grade Points in form of CGPA/OGPA/CPI, etc. If your University/college defines criteria for conversion of aggregate Grade Point into a percentage of marks, then the same will be accepted. But, if your University/ college does not define criteria for conversion of Aggregate Grade Point into a percentage of marks, in the degree/passing certificates, then you can convert your Equivalent CGPA/OGPA/CPI or similar terminologies allotted on a 10 point scale into percentage as per the following table :

10. I am in final year of my graduation, am I eligible to apply for this recruitment?

No, you are not eligible. To apply for Officer Grade B, General a candidate must have completed his/her graduation as on 1st July 2018.  To apply for Officers in Gr B (DR) – ( Economics and Policy Research Department, DEPR)   and Officers in Gr B (DR) – ( Statistics and Information Management Department, DSIM ) , a candidate must have completed his/her post-graduation ( in the mentioned subjects only) as on 1st July 2018.

11. What is the Application fee for RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018?

For general and OBC category candidates, application fee to apply for RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2017 is 850/- and for all other (SC/ST/PWD), it is 100/- rupees. There is no application charge for a person who is already working with RBI under any post.

12. How many times can I appear for this RBI Grade B Officer Exam? 

Candidates belonging to General category can appear for maximum six times in this exam. It means if you have already given the phase 1 examination for the posts under this recruitment six times earlier, then you are not eligible to apply for this exam seventh time. There is no such limit on a number of attempts for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD for this exam.

13. What is the salary structure of the posts under this recruitment?

The starting basic pay of Rs. 35,150/- p.m. in the scale of Rs. 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750(2)-54400-2000(4)-62400 which is applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments are approximately Rs. 75,831/-(approx.)

14. How many total phases are there in this exam and what is the selection procedure?

There are total three phases under this RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2018, which are :
1.Phase 1 online examination
2.Phase 2 online examination
3.Interview

The marks obtained in the Phase-I will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Interview (Phase-III) for preparing the final merit list. The candidates are required to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately to get the final selection.

15. What is the structure of Phase 1 online Examination for posts of  Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) (General)?

The phase 1 exam for this recruitment is an online exam of total 200 marks. A total time of 120 minutes will be given to answer all the questions. The phase 1 online exam will consist of following four sections :
i)General Awareness
ii) English Language
iii) Quantitative Aptitude
iv) Reasoning
Candidates have to secure sectional cutoff in each section as well as an overall cutoff in this phase 1 to be shortlisted for the phase 2 of this recruitment-

16. What is the structure of Phase 1 online Examination  for posts of  Officers in Gr B (DR) – ( Economics and Policy Research Department, DEPR)   and Officers in Gr B (DR) (Statistics and Information Management Department, DSIM)

For these two posts under this recruitment, the Phase 1 will consist of only Paper I (on Economics) that will Objective Type. This paper 1 is of total 100 marks and 120 minutes will be given to answer all questions.

17. What is the structure of Phase 2 online Examination for posts of  Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) (General)?

Phase 2 online examination will be in shifts. It is compulsory for a candidate to appear in all the shifts of this phase. This Phase 2 online exam is of total 300 marks. Refer to the following table to have a look on the structure of phase 2 online exam :

 

 

18. What is the structure of Phase 2 online Examination for posts of  Officers in Gr B (DR) – ( Economics and Policy Research Department, DEPR)   and Officers in Gr B (DR) (Statistics and Information Management Department, DSIM)?
