1. UGC NET JRF Exam Pattern Paper I

We’ve updated the details about UGC NET JRF Syllabus 2019 & exam pattern for Paper 1 & Paper 2 2019 based on the official notification. Information handout will provide the information about the exam pattern for Paper 1 and Paper 2 of UGC NET JRF. It will be available on the official website for some time. The pattern is expected to remain the same for Paper 1 exam as that of December 2018. The syllabus of UGC NET JRF Officer (General) has also been updated in this post.

You all must know the important areas to focus to clear the exam while preparing for UGC NET JRF Exam. Here, we are providing you with a detailed syllabus of the exam. It will provide you an idea about all the topics & types of questions which can be asked in the examination.

The Qualifying marks for Paper 1 general category are 40 and the qualifying marks for Paper 1 Reserved Category is 35.

2. UGC NET JRF Paper II

Paper II exam is the Second stage under the UGC NET JRF Selection Procedure. UGC NET JRF 2019 will be held on the same date as of Paper I. Paper i and Paper II will be held on the same day consecutively in a time frame of three hours. Paper II exam holds an important role in the UGC NET JRF Selection Procedure. The Overall Selection is based on the marks obtained by a candidate in both the exams, so it is very important for a student to score equally good marks in both the exams as just cracking the cut off will not help you to achieve a certificate of UGC NET JRF.

 

This stage depends on the subject you want to get your certification in. It contains 100 questions. The syllabus of Paper II is the complete syllabus of Graduation & Post Graduation of that particular subject. For each right answer, a student gets +2 mark and for each incorrect answer, no negative score is given. So all the students are recommended to attempt all the questions. The score obtained in Paper – II examination is considered in the final score as well.

 

UGC NET Commerce Paper II Business Environment:

  • Economic environment, Economic Policies, Economic Planning.
  • Legal environment of Business in India, Competition policy, Competition act 2002, Consumer protection act 1986, Environment protection act etc.
  • Policy Environment: Liberalization Privatization and Globalization, Second generation reforms, Industrial policy and implementation. Industrial growth and structural changes.

Financial & Management Accounting:

  • Basic Accounting concepts, Capital and Revenue, Financial statements.
  • Partnership Accounts: Admission, Retirement, Death, Dissolution and Cash Distribution.
  • Advanced Company Accounts: Issue, forfeiture, Purchase of Business, Liquidation, Valuation of shares, Amalgamation, Absorption, and Reconstruction, Holding Company Accounts.
  • Cost and Management Accounting: Ratio Analysis, Funds Flow Analysis, Cash Flow Analysis, Marginal costing, and Break-even analysis, Standard costing, -Budgetary control, Costing for decision-making Responsibility accounting.

Business Economics:

  • Nature and uses of Business Economics, Concept of Profit and Wealth Maximization. Demand Analysis and Elasticity of Demand, Indifference Curve Analysis, Law.
  • Utility Analysis and Laws of Returns and Law of variable proportions.
  • Cost, Revenue, Price determination in different market situations : Perfect competition, Monopolistic competition, Monopoly, Price discrimination and Oligopoly, Pricing strategies.

Business Statistics & Data Processing:

  • Data types, Data collection, and analysis, sampling, need, errors and methods of sampling, Normal distribution, Hypothesis testing, Analysis and Interpretation of Data.
  • Correlation and Regression, small sample tests: t-test, F-test and chi-square test.

Income – tax Law and Tax Planning

  • Basic concepts, Residential status, and tax incidence, exempted incomes, computation of taxable income under various heads.
  • Computation of taxable income of individuals and firms.
  • Deduction of tax, the filing of returns, different types of assessment; Defaults and penalties.
  • Tax Planning: Concept, significance, and problems of tax planning, Tax evasion, and tax avoidance, methods of tax planning.
  • Tax considerations in specific business decisions, viz., make or buy; own or lease, retain or replace; export or domestic sales; shut-down or closure; expand or contract; invest or disinvest.
  • Computer Application in Income tax and Tax planning.

Total Exam Duration: 180 minutes.

Note: Paper I and Paper II will be set in both language English and Hindi. A candidate who is giving the exam has to secure minimum marks independently in each paper and total also.

Final Selection

  • Final Selection will be through merit list which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Paper – I & Paper-II examination.

  • The overall level of Teaching Aptitude section is expected to be Moderate. 
  • Total of 5 questions will be asked in this section.
  • Follow Some Standard Notes
  • Prepare your Own Chart Based Notes (FOR EXAMPLE)
  • Keep Short Notes handy
  • Characteristics of Teacher and Student is Important
  • Practice as many as Question you can on Teaching aptitude.
  • If you have time you can follow some edition books from SET syllabus.
